Uh, to dispel rumors and put the matter to rest. You know, what a just man would do. He did release a valid birth certificate that was quickly dismissed as a forgery. This is false. You need to back track on this thread for when the discussion was in full tilt. No, it isn't false. The world doesn't revolve around SI and this thread. The appropriate officials in the government of the State of Hawaii verified the document. Ignore the ones you call birthers then, since you are blinded by your desire to vilify them, and focus on the information that has yet to be divulged yeah, sure...ok. So what? How does truth seeking depend on someone's reaction to the result? Do you give up on seeking the truth because some may be hysterical when you find it? The birther argument has long since been about truth seeking. To verify his citizenship in order to qualify for the office he holds. The noise is only going to get louder and can negatively impact any re election bid. Nut cases want him to verify his citizenship status as do regular, everyday people. The noise will get louder and it will make the conservative look more and more shrill and important things like Cap & Trade will be ignored and eventually passed because it will be easy to dismiss the right. Basically, the "birthers" are chasing a red herring and letting the big game get away. Once again you use a leftist term that means nothing. There are no birther meetings. No birth chapters. No birther unions. No organized community birthers. There are no birthers. Its invented. Its people who want the citizenship status of the President verified, no matter how unsavory that may be to those who don't want to face the ultimate truth of the discovery. oh geez, now I have to be politically correct and spell out that "birthers" means "the people who are challenging obama's citizenship based on foolish fantasies". Sorry, I don't refer to "blacks" as "african-americans" either. I'll choose the single word description every time. The ugliest truth about the discovery will be that obama is perfectly qualified from a citizenship requirement to be the POTUS. And while the birthers chase the red herrings he will get stronger and then we are all fucked.
