David Frum seems to disagree with you. I agree with him...anytime you isolate the extreme of any movement and make it the mainstream of its party it's a good thing for their opponents.

Frum has long ago become leftwinger. So, I suppose these people look extreme to him.

They come across as exceptionally reasonable people. Which is why it is a big deal that they have decided to get out and become a bit more politically active.
