Went to a local BestBuy and I think the instore initiative is pretty much over for Apple. We're right back to iMacs sitting in the corner, dusty screens, incomprehensible file/folder names and broken mightymice sitting on wobbly wiremesh shelves. It's Sears all over again…

That really depends on which BestBuy you go into. My local one is a huge, popular one and the Apple display is front and center in the computer section. The Macs are always in good shape and powered on, with none of the problems you name.

I've also been to a smaller market BestBuy about 100 miles to the north and it is as you describe, no Apple display and the lone Mac shoved off into a corner, all forgotten and sad.
