Can't mix price and quality in a definition of flation because quality is already in price at equilibrium. DEF inflation := In the modern era which is dominated by FED's use of Keynesian economics, inflation is defined as acceleration of general price level(GPL) in unit time. In earlier eras it was defined as increase of GPL in unit time. DEF deflation := In the modern era which is dominated by FED's use of Keynesian economics, deflation is defined as unchanging general price level(GPL) in unit time. In earlier eras it was defined as decrease of GPL in unit time.
