sinclap,

So long as these machines run kluggy, virus-laden Windoze, you can't even compare them to Apple.

As they say at the IT integrator where I used to work, Windoze is job security.

Remember, with Microsoft failure is never an option.

It comes bundled with every product.

>>Possible competitive threats to the Mac business?

The competition has roared back!<<

Sinclap -

Roared? Sounds like more of a squeak to me.

Those HP servers look interesting, and the fact that they devoted so much effort to making them compatible with Macs is telling.

But the HP all-in-one is underpowered and underwhelming. The so-called Envy line is still vaporware, and looks like it will come with a confusing array of options, each of which creates another trade-off - faster processor/shorter battery life, for example. And they don't have built-in DVD drives.

The Dell machines are going to be performance dogs. They don't come anywhere close to the Macbooks.

With competition like that, Apple doesn't need partners. =)

What a shame! None of them run OSX.
