Cutting spending right now would worsen the current recession.

Oh bummer! "Expecting much out of congress is a fool's game."
Expecting anything out of congress is a fools game. All they do is buy votes with tax payers money. Now the promise is free healthcare, inexpensive healthcare, better healthcare, more efficient healthcare. Remember the Alinski rule for radicals Find the pet peeve and run with it. Make it your own then use it to do what is really your agenda.
Then there is Fredrick Hayaks remark right out of his anti socialism book "The Road To Serfdom" where" he wrote "The Road To Hell is Paved With Good Intentions". Meanwhile in Bill Maher's America stupid Americans aren't familiar with either. Both should be read to prevent what is going on in America today. I know we are once again on the road to serfdom. The very road Hayek warned against.

"The road to hell is paved with good intensions."

"Cut spending now.....do it across the board"

Isn't it a little bit LATE to be saying that?????

That was a great idea in 2001 when we were starting to run some surpluses. THAT was a time to cut spending so we could have "increased" those surpluses and used them to pay off our National Debt.

It wasn't ANY secret that we were going to be seeing a SURGE in retirements and increases in Medicare and Medicaid spending.

So NOW you're suddenly saying you want spending cuts...LOL

At a time when the entire economy is being locked up by unemployment and a lack of revenues???

That's WONDERFUL logic.

Oh bummer! This president can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. Show me the savings first, then give me the free healthcare.
Never believe a politician, especially one from Chicago.
If this president can save that much from medicare he would deserve to be re-elected. If he saves that much from fraud and waste from medicare I would vote for him. Rest assured he can't and wont. It is just political fodder for his masses of stupid americans. There is no such thing as free lunch but there is free healthcare. Free healthcare not only to those who have healthcare now but for an additional 47 million. Give me a break. Show me the savings and I will vote for you next time. The whole deal is he keeps on insisting that he cannot do anything about the deficit because healthcare is so expensive so healthcare must be reformed. Well shave the expenses by cutting the waste and fraud. You said you could do it so do it! We will live with the rest of this mess until you show us the savings promised. Once you put medicare in the black without cutting any benefits you could be president the rest of your life. You do it and you have my vote not only next election but forever on.
