No....the Republican party has NO leadership now. In this vacuum you find the "pundits" who claim no responsibility but portray themselves as the leadership (true voice) of the conservative movement.

If you don't think alienation of moderate voters who could be induced to vote for republicans (read: more conservative candidates) by the over the top shtick of the entertainers like Limbaugh, Beck, Levin, et al than you are sadly naive.

The democrats love it when Beck or Limbaugh portray themselves as the "real conservatives". They then pound on the fact that no one could trust governing to such persons....

Frum sees this. Will sees this. Bartlett (of Bush's administration) sees it. Ed Rollins sees it.

Of course, this problem could be solved by a real political leader emerging in the republican (conservative) fold. Somebody legit. Until then, the vacumn just gives the democrats more ammo with the likes of Beck....
