I'd sure like to hear the kids modern music The problem remains the same, finding something intelligent or special is like finding a needle in a haystack. It may even be worse with garage band now allowing any moron to make "beats." The record companies only finance what they know sells, which means 99.9% is generic. Kids are the last people to know quality... everyone thinks all 3 bands are "the best they've ever seen" when they've only seen 3 bands. I know... I used to think I was sounding like and old man, until I realized I hated most of the crap that was on radio when I was a 17 year old curmudgeon. Alt FM was cool for awhile, until the corporations picked up on the hippy DIY thing and made it... generic. NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Garrison Keillor Mildly amusing, as are a lot of programming on NPR. Compelling? No.
