The stock market is on life support currently due to stimulus money (peaking in Q309) and Fed liquidity. As soon as these punch bowls are withdrawn the economy will relapse and the market will head a long way downwards... just like in Japan:

As you can see, each time after the stimulus efforts peaked the market peaked out a little afterwards and then crashed again.

Why do you keep comparing this to post WW2 recessions in the US?
