It's really quite simple. You let the market clear itself instead of propping it up with some supply-side voodoo. In fact we can make supply-side economic voodoo illegal so this never happens again.

In a free market, home and office prices tumble and go into foreclosure. People and businesses file for bankruptcy. Without the debt businesses are more profitable and people can work for less without their debt burden.

New businesses can lease or purchase foreclosed space cheaply. Business booms and hires inexpensive employees creating prosperity. That's a free-market capitalist economy. It probably sounds alien to you.

In the interim the government can spend enough to keep people from starving and to maintain civil order. That's the role of government.

The government exists to serve the people @ 53 I've come the conclusion that government exists to perpetuate itself.. our needs are secondary and come to light mostly for a brief time at election time :O)

In theory you are perfectly correct.. but in practice :O)
