I know he does.

If things are going well for him and his group he thinks the world is fine. It is a common mistake that went from state to state to state in the housing bubble bust.

"It's different in (name your city)"

"I don't see problems in (my industry, my city, my whatever), as if that was the universe to watch.

Now because his business has artificially recovered it's as if the structural problems don't exist.
