Worse, whenever i start wishing for a third party, i think of Perot, who split the vote and elected Clinton. I really feel like it's pay to play with both parties now, and we're the naive ones.

Washington changed under Slick Willie. Huge money flowed in, foreign money, too, China for instance, and distanced our reps from the people. I don't know how to get it back.

This whole health care debacle has made me aware of how unresponsive the elected are to the voice of the people. They don't respond to the teabaggers, because there aren't enough of them, and they know that TV commercial buys can swing the great unwashed. therefore it's the special interests and the big bundlers who have the influence, because they have the money to buy the largest numbers of voters, which leave the people who are protesting because of their values out in the cold.

I try not to be cynical, but...
