This is interesting, dollar is at like Sept/Oct 2007 levels and heading towards new lows it looks like. Oct 2007 was the stock market top, but oil and gold kept going up as bernanke trashed the dollar with rate cuts, then we collapsed. It's de ja vu, IMO. It's a repeat. It worked before, right?

This time....dollar may be cooked for good, and we might end up in a currency crisis....and then they will say...."no one could have seen it coming" LOL. Then they'll blame someone else, like russia, china, or saudi for dumping dollars.

Get ready to start hearing the drums of war soon. I give it 4-5 years tops before a MAJOR war starts. It is human nature for people to blame others for their own stupidity and mistakes. I figure China will end up being our scapegoat, and we will end up being theirs. The trade wars are already starting. Net result: a massive reduction in world population. Problem solved... if anyone is left.

I am not at all convinced the US could beat China in a war. We can't even beat Iraq or Afghanistan.

"But hey, our market is up. I've long held the belief that any rally predicated on a currency decline is just a smokescreen"

Exactly. It's a CON game and a cover-up, IMO.
