JMHO, but I think that even sophisticated investors sometimes don't read the quarterly reports. Of course that's stretching the term "sophisticated" a bit.

Granted, the non GAAP earnings is a known value to investors, but by being non GAAP the weight of the earnings toward valuation of the stock is lessened. Once those same earnings are GAAP, the p/e and projected p/e's are affected and the full weight of the earnings is given recognition in evaluating the investment potential of the stock.

Apple has always reported the actual deferred revenues as non-gap. Nothing new. Seems like most people don't read qtrly reports?

Do you mean that thing that gets put into the recycle bin unopened?

Nice to see Apple going up, even though it is because people are realizing that there is no spoon.

By the time Apple comes out with quarterly reports with the new style figures, it will have gained what it will have gained.
