None of the procedures you have had, or will have may have been necessary if you had put your faith not in the medical system, but where research shows us that our diet and intake of drugs could be improved by ourselves without physician's intervention. I don't know what time you could have borrowed by following a different regime but I know it saved me from death's door to become my own physician.

The sum total of CDN health care is 90 billion approx. BC collects 38 billion in total revenue, but a good part of that is in transfer payments from other provinces. It's own tax collection, as in VAT taxes is much less. They collect 5 billion in VAT. Their own health care is worth 15 billion.

Personal, corporate and income tax comes to 13 billion in BC. Yes, Virginia, it does exceed what they pay out in Medicare alone. Where does the other money come from, the 25 billion? From Alberta.

65% of the cost of Medicare in this country is in the administration. None of the people doing that provide health care. It is the most inefficient health care in the world, and for our degree of industrialization is the lowest standard of care in the civilized world. We are ranked 30th in standards of health care. Our wait times are longer than hospitals in Albania. Most Canadians do not have a family doctor. Most doctors do not get any more for procedures or in office tests than they did in 1980. We spend 3000 per person on health care, and the US spends almost 6,000. For the record they get better care. Their lack of services for their poor is about equivalent to our lack of family doctors. Lack of a personal physician means that you really don't have effective health care, until it is too late.
