These countries have come to understand that they have to cut tax rates and needless regulation if they want to compete in a world economy.

While they are still in transition they are headed the right direction while the US is headed the wrong direction. Germany's corporate tax rates have dropped by a good 25% over the last few years, for example. Italy's by probably 12-15%. Just as an example. These are long-term trends that interest those who are thinking of setting up shop somewhere.

It is clear that the US has become an anti-business environment with the current administration. One has to be very committed to the country to stay here and conduct business when there are dozens of friendlier places.
