Ritter was on the sadam payroll... sadam himself said he wanted everyone to think he had WMD, so what were we to believe? Would you want to be the one to call his bluff and risk global destruction? I doubt it... c'mon...<g>

Yes, yes, all the people who said that there was no WMD program, including the European experts, were dismissed from the debate. I doubt all were on the Saddam "payroll". But they were declared "wrong" by the experts in the CIA. Which brings us to your original question....Curveball and the other stooges lied and people wanted to believe those lies, for whatever reason.

Your argument about clear and present danger applied to North Korea, and applies to Iran today. We could extend it to other nations based on rumor or intelligence. Oh, and "global destruction"? From Iraq...?
