I was once an atheist in my youth as I searched for meaning and truth in life. Agnosticism and atheism are only two positions in a broad spectrum of beliefs held by those on their spiritual journeys. Every person who seeks the Truth with all their hearts will find it. The power and wisdom of God are expressed in their fullness in Jesus Christ crucified and raised from the dead. What does that mean? Man is broken and in his brokenness has lost possession of his castle--heart and mind--, in other words, has lost possession of his full humanity. Man has become a servant and slave of darkness and sin. In that brokenness, Satan enters at will and takes control of your house through your imagination, memories, thoughts,...etc. and produces sin at will. In Christ, we have the one human being who could resist Satan and remain in total control of his own house. The furor of Satan's hatred was released on the Cross thorugh the sins of humanity--Romans, Jews, and humanity in general. The Resurrection restored the new man-God Jesus Christ. Now Jesus offers this life through the grace of God and the Holy Spirit to every broken man who seeks control of his own castle--who seeks to push Satan out and restore communion with God. Without Christ, we continue in our sins and we remain the slaves of Satan. Existentialism along with every other ism and ideology invented by man is incapable of restoring control of our castles--and in the end, incapable of restoring the brotherhood of man. The isms and ideologies can give us psychological highs for a time, they can provide understanding for pieces of the broken puzzles that is our lives, but they cannot translate us from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light. They cannot restore total control of our hearts and mind in peace, joy and righteousness. Power, wisdom and the life of God is demonstrated through the Cross of Christ. It is there that we get the power and the wisdom of God to take drive out the intruders of sin and establish the peace, love, joy and righteousness. Read the words carefully friend for in them you will find the ultimate Truth that you seek--the Truth brings peace, love, righteousness and joy. Emile
