There is no need for China to waste a breath on the matter or do anything. If Americans don't want good quality cheaper tyres than they can make themselves, then that's not really China's problem. If Americans like to give LOTS of money to Obama and co via tyre tariffs along with all the other imposts against them, then China could reasonably feel sorry for Americans but not angry. It's an American problem and not something that China needs to worry about. There are 300 million Americans with one car each with four tyres per car so that's 1.2 billion tyres. There are 5 billion other people with one car for every 50 people so that's 400 million tyres. [near enough for government work] I need four new tyres now so I'll take some. Here's some actual data tirebusiness.com 1 billion tyres per year for cars around the world of which 150 million are made in China and 150 million are made in USA with sales growing rapidly in China and dropping a bit in USA. The USA put quotas and tariffs on sheep and steel which are things NZ sells. NZ didn't bother with a trade war. We just sold the stuff to China instead, and anyone else who wanted to buy sheep or steel. It wouldn't help New Zealanders if we refused to buy good things from the USA or had to give our government a lot of money if we decide to buy from USA producers. If Americans don't want cheap steel, cheap sheep, cheap tyres, then that's their problem, not China's or New Zealand's. Somebody else will buy them. China and Japan seemed to be interested in buying steel. If the USA wants to be like Mao's China, and like Albania and North Korea, sealing itself up against the outside world then that's not a concern of the rest of the world. That's not likely. It's just a little tyre tariff. Americans will squawk and fire Obama if he keeps putting such taxes on them. No trade wars, no worries. Let's all work together. ElM digs the trench and installs fibre and poles, Huawei provides the money and the technology, Qualcomm provides the ASICs and software, Motorola provides MOTOBLUR and Cliq, Asus makes EeePC with Gobi, Skype enables communication, Google gets the information organized and delivered, Facebook puts a face on it all, China provides tyres, Toyota ships in cars, Exxon produces and refines some fuel, Angolans build some roads and ship food and stuff back to everyone.
