I just watched this video on our midday news and the town caused me to wonder if something like this could have happened to Donald. The young woman's description of it happening is scary and I shuddered to think of something like happening to anyone.

As far as foul play is concerned, do bikers have instances of motorcycles being taken like carjackers. We have had many carjackings here in the last couple of years, but I have never heard of any bikers being accosted for their bikes, but it could possibly be happening. Just a thought...

My pard called back this morning to tell me that he met three bikers having breakfast this morning in a small cafe in Condon Montana, which is about 120 miles north of the search area. The bikers were retired law enforcement/fire department, and the wife of one of them.

The bikers had been through South Dakota and had seen flyers posted in cafes and other places there, so were familiar with the story when he asked them about it.

They said they once had a Gull Wing, and had to fuel up every hour and a half or so. Since Don fueled up in Lolo, he would be more than half into his hour and a half at Darby, unless he was flying low. The next fuel source after Darby would be Conner and Sula, and after that Salmon Idaho or Wisdom Montana, both of which would be stretching the range of his tank. There's no fuel up either the West Fork of the Bitterroot or the East Fork. If he bought gas with cash in Darby, that would extend the search area quite a bit.

These bikers told a story of a woman who disappeared under similar circumstances and was eventually found by her husband in a cornfield in Ohio. He found her by searching corners and tight curves where she might have fallen asleep. (I think she had sleep apnea).

The bikers discounted the possibility of outlaw biker gangs behind the disappearance.

I would concentrate my search in places where Don could have lost control, of which there are many in that area, not to mention the mountain sheep that like to get all over the highway, especially this time of year.

My wife just came in and said I could go look for Don if you want me to.

All you have to do is say yes.

Here are some pictures of a fire found by my Pard from the fire lookout we volunteer at. This series has two fires; his fire is the one with the word "SLIDE" in the lower left had corner of the pictures. cmd.shutterfly.com
