Matty,
There are 3,000,000 shares outstanding. That means that there are 3,000,000 shares in cert form controlled by people or brokerages. Now lets say it is all controlled by people. When I request a certificate for 5,000 shares, that certificate has to come from the 3,000,000. They have to give me my certificate for 5,000. They will have to get my 5,000 from someone in the 3,000,000. The problem they have is they cannot distinguish between your 5,000 uncertified and Riley's 5,000 certified! Therefor they have to just buy and hope. Do you fully understand how this plan works now? They cannot cover your cert request with shorted shares.
Sincerely,
Hraka
