Prednisone is good for treating accuate problems like inflamation, but if you stay on it too long, then it creates its own set of problems. I took prednisone for a few years for an eye inflamation condition. I wound up gaining 20 lbs and having insomnia. Prednisone messes with the body's hormones and internal clocks. It is important to tapper prednisone off and not stop suddenly. I hope you are feeling better soon. Hang in there. At least you now have immunity to swine flu.
