Good enuff.

Yellow snow won't hurt you near as much as lots of stuff on supermarket shelves. But I try to stay away from it too.

More knowledge allows more informed choices.

It is a deep study. Too easily dismissed by people because the sum total of the information has never been laid out for them. As recently as ten years ago, many people were of the belief that there was no food value in mushrooms and celery or that spices were only important for taste. Really unbelievable but the state of assume knowledge about nutrition is abysmally insufficient. We have been brought up on complete hokum. Three squares etc. is complete and dangerous hooey. The CDN food guide is a laughingstock. Even Ancel Keys as early as 1955 knew that this was so, but even with his findings, people were slow to change their perceptions. He was the first scientist to realize that the mediterranean diet was responsible for marked differences in certain people's longevity and freedom from HD and Cancer. i.e. Okinawans and Cretans. He is still being criticized for the supposed paradoxes which he failed to take into account. For the record he did not fail to recognize the supposed discrepancies or account for them. There are supposed refutations to his alpha linoleic acid theory. The French paradox is not even a paradox. French ate fewer calories, more fuit and vegetables, less meat, less vegetable oil, more red wine and salicylates and less starch by orders of magnitude than Americans. Just about at every meal French eat fruit. Spain and Africa are not far away. Fish is a national dish. Beef is rare. Their fat intake is wholely different and their breads are different too. CDN's suffer fewer strokes than any other major nationality. The reason? Our wheat has 50 times more selenium than other varieties. Italian Pasta is made with CDN wheat, accounting in part for its health giving properties in Italy!
