I was thinking more along the line of workers sitting on the roads blocking them, thinking that helps the country. Also thinking the housing situation being so bad that people live in the same houses their grandparents and parents lived in, and often still do. Lastly both have a worldwide military that can't seem to get much of anything useful accomplished (the countries the US attacked/invaded are even more unstable today than then). You raise a good point about their government being much more intelligent than ours. Argentina definitely would have been a better choice.
