Good points that justify the newly proposed and more mobile defense systems. I guess one possible down side might include the further loss of credibility within the adversely affected former USSR satellite nations. One might wonder just what detrimental political alignments they may seek to establish. There is a more subtle downside that is consistently ignored. I refer to the fact that mid-stream cancellation of developmental projects causes discouragement within American engineering and scientific developmental teams. Most of these teams have worked together, on these and other defense-related programs, for years. I am told by some involved that they are being advised to beat the rush and ready their resumes. This along with Obama’s prior cancellation of the Alaskan-based mid-range missile project, for example, may have a devastating impact upon national security, if and when future weapon-system development becomes an acute necessity. Anyway, North Korea must be pleased. Hopefully, after the reality of how Obama’s defense cancellations impact Boeing drifts as far as Pikes Market, the Left Coasters will awaken from their denial of international hostility. The question is, will it be too late?
