>>Why does Koan live in a red state? Why isn't he basking in a blue state of his making?<<

We ad hoc democrats did make this state in the beginning (constitution) and when we controlled the legislature in the 70's we formed many of the the laws and institutions.

That is why we have a permanent fund with almost 40 billion in it and pay no state taxes at all. The revenue from the permanent fund pays for all our state needs. And everyone gets about $2,000 a year in a permanent fund state dividend check.

We fought the right wingers to get that program in the constitution in the 70's because they did not like government programs running things and wanted to spend all the money. We wnted to save some of it for the kids when the oil ran out. And we won because we controlled the house then.

So since then, 25% (now 50%) of all state revenue goes into a state program called the "Permanent fund" which is for our kids and our state is in the best shape of any state in the union right now.

We have no debt, lots of jobs, pay no taxes and have almost 40 billion in investments, mostly stocks and bonds.

And the best schools and social programs.
