My personal experience with multiculturalism is good --

That is -- many gene lines, cultural traditions to choose from. Also new and different ways of seeing and dealing with life.

Cons is of course where you introduce the "whacked out", such as radicalized Al Quida, or similar folks that say "my culture or death to you".

There are a few of those around, such as the afore mentioned, but also certain right wing ostensibly "christian" hate groups.

Then there are those that just want to tell you what to believe, or how to live, and attempt through politics to change the law or stack the courts. Those aren't too good for multiculturalism either. IE: Multiculturalism fine, as long as its my culture.

Really is a variant of tribalism, which seems to be part of human genome.
