Used to be 47 million. Then they took out the illegals and those already on Medicaid. Now it's 30 million. But of those 30 million, about 4 million are poor people who are eligible for Medicaid but haven't signed up. If they wind up in a hospital the hospital will sign them up. So that leaves 26 million. Of those, about half make more than $50,000 a year and could afford some health insurance but choose not to buy it. So the real total of uncovered working class people is about 13 million. For these 13 million, they want to destroy the current system - and make no mistake, once the majority of people go on government health care at Medicare or Medicaid rates, the current system is dead. Doctors will go broke and begin running for the hills, retiring or opening 'cash only' boutiques. You'll have great insurance on paper but you'll have to hunt for weeks for a doctor, then wait six months to see him.
