Well, he had no motivation to lie about the matter. Had he actually made the remark, he would have plenty of time to consider the consequences of it. This was no revelation...all he did was to confirm what we already knew...all he did was to write it in his book, complete with detailed descriptives, then the conservative shit started to rain down and he tepidly tried to back off...we knew this all along...the terror alerts seemed to pop up at the most politically opportune occasions...
