RW,

Actually, a late appointment might work in your favor. My son and I had a rather late Genius Bar appointment there a couple of years ago about replacing (for the second time) a Mag-Safe power cable. As they are wont to do because of the design, the cable had worn near the connector and was starting to short. He was still covered under Apple Care on his MacBookPro but they had been kind snarky about replacing it the first time around.

We showed up around 7:30 or so, the guy took one look at it, did the paperwork and went to the back and got a new one. This took all of about 4-5 minutes. Done!

Personally, I think that they were just trying to wrap it up for the day and make quick work of it. It might work out really well for you.

Jef

Whoops, earliest appointment is 8PM.

Thats a good time you can go out for a nice dinner and then hit the store for your appointment.

There are a couple of stores in my area that stay open later on Saturday while many close at 8 or 9 PM.

Went anyway and had to wait about an hour. (For those interested in 'busy', it was VERY crowded but didn't seem like a lot of folks were buying computers... mostly accessories).

Anyway the 'genius' was 100% convinced it was software that had corrupted the OS. None on my intuitive arguments would change his mind. So he striped it clean and at this moment I am restoring everything from itunes. Let you folks know if this works....
