I don't think it's so much losing steam against Israel as it is lack of support for Palestine. Given the millions of people who have been killed in Iran from the Revolution through the war with Iraq, practically everyone either had a relative or a friend killed. It's one thing to protect your own country but another to die for a country you have no investment in.

The mullahs created Hamas and Hezbollah and continue to fund them. The Iranian people, for the most part, aren't interested in Palestine's problems. They don't like Israel because that's been taught since they were babies but most of them accept Israel as a fact. It's only the mullahs and the radical sects that want to cause Armageddon by wiping Israel off the face of the Earth - as Mr. Ahmydinnerjacket has said.
