"How would you feel if Russia came over here and arbitrarily put missles (even defensive weapons) in Cuba, Mexico or Venezuela? You would be up in arms about it, right?"

Let Europe handle Iran. Iran has no missles that can reach us and Iran is muhc more of a thrreat to Europe. Why are we spnding our money. Their GDP is larger than ours.

Yeah, this is the typical liberal response -- you can see CJ's posts to me from a day or two ago.

But the reality is that the threat isn't to Europe, it is to us. When the Bush administration made the commitments in the first place it was about putting an infrastructure in place that served to protect the US as much as Europe. You have to think this stuff out years in advance.

This was one of many incompetent foreign policy moves Obama has made. It was a blunder not only because of the decision itself, but because we got no meaningful concession from Russia in the process (today's news notwithstanding -- that is a big fat nothing).

At a minimum he should have received hard, public commitments to stand up against Iranian aggression. Nothing.

It was incompetent in every respect.
