I seem to recall trying to educate LJ (or someone with a very similar level of ignorance) before on this topic. A lost cause, I fear. Emotion trumps reason.

While I in no way am approving of fascism, I do not believe that any of the examples you have given are unique to fascism. It is a word that to many people equate with militarism and denial of human rights but that is not its essence. lj
