pogo,
looks you aren't able to provide any reasoning for your musings ?

Just a brief glance unveils a large glitch in your two posts. Looks like you equate "Asset quality" (your perception that banks would have to write down more) with "ability to service debt".

Normally, if I discern such a gap in the thought process of any poster, I refuse to become involved in any discussion. Simply because I consider it not worth the effort to go on. But for some free education, let me continue...

Unknown to you as this might be, these are actually pretty DIFFERENT THINGS. Assets are on the asset side of the balance sheets - they don't need to be "serviced at all". Just kept, acuired or sold. While you won't service assets, you of course have to service debts. Maybe you have pretty limited understanding on such matters and what that involves - could this be ?

so if you want to say something, pls. do, otherwise you might prove to be just an echo of a "sentiment" with no ability to add any kind of insight - or maybe that wasn't planned at all...
