It's still very early in the solar power game. CST (concentrating solar thermal) has some advantages, and sidesteps the Chinese attempt to monopolize the supply of indium needed for CIGS thin film. There's keen interest in the Australian pilot projects that capture and store solar heat in blocks of low-emissivity purified graphite.

Wind energy is attracting more investment than solar energy.
Consequently PWMD is doing better than TAN.
Some say that thin film is improving i.e. cheapening faster than
windmills so it may eventually win the race. Meanwhile the
breeze enriches one.
