That was a classic scene in "there will be blood".....

the question is, "is the country so far lost that it is time to abandon ship?"

If we had continued down the path of slowly eroding our rights and pocketbooks, I would say that it would be hopeless.

But Obama has awakened the responsible population by trying to shove too many changes down our throats at once. I believe that we are in the process of witnessing a failed attempt at a bloodless coup. I believe that there is going to be a fervent backlash against socialist policies and politicians. If we don't see this backlash in the 2010 election, then I believe it will be time to think about abandoning ship.

Other than Ayn Rand's pedantic writing style, I think she had very insightful views. But I think that there is more than one way to skin a cat. I think that the Atlas Shrugged method will work, but probably not in my lifetime. It seems to be that the Saul Arlinsky method works very well against liberals in power, the same as it does against conservatives. And why can't we do a modified cloward-piven tactic as well?

Perhaps my personal flaw is that I believe that I am smarter and better able to compete against someone who has leeched off of the government tit their entire life. The game got changed on us and we have been slow to realize this. Now that we do, we should be able to adapt to the new playing field and we should be able to win. If we can't adapt and beat them at their game (or change the game back to our game), then perhaps we don't deserve it.
