That is a very moving statement.

My Pard and I have a three day rule when we're in the woods: If either of us is overdue three days, the other comes looking. We are both confident that we can make it on our own for that long, except in the case of disaster.

We have a rule for that too, which is sort of a joke and inappropriate here.
