I followed your pointing out who was who to see Mache. and that is something... and... yes, a dear friend would want to do that. she would. I know I will want to hold my mother for the last walk when the day comes. It's really a beautiful group of friends. and your wife... so bright a person... I can understand your feeling of loss. and that maybe that was your time, and from now on alone. you never know, though, and from experience, I would suggest... be open. however, alone is not the worst thing. some people... they think we need to fill a spot. but sometimes... that spot can not be filled and that's okay. we just miss someone. but... just sayin', if someone comes along... you are a young man still. sorry. waxing there.
