The hand of God at work.

Indeed.

Those who do not believe in miracles, nor in the hand of God at work, just do not know it when they see it. I don't think they would recognize it if it came as clear as a pie in their face.

I've related my personal story elsewhere in which thirteen individual miracles lined up to save the life of my mother-in-law, any one of which would have reversed the result if it had not played out as God decreed that it should.

Several of the thirteen miracles would be viewed as human failures or individual negatives in any context outside of their sequence in the whole.

The hand of God at work. I got chills when I read your post last night, Smithee....If anyone has any doubt that there is a God, they need only to look around them. Finding Donald was definitely not an accident. There was no reason for those folks to stop right there, except that they were led to that spot, and were led to find him.

I know for the deaths of ones close to us, that signs were given us that all was all right....The most amazing one for all of us was the day of my FIL's burial...on a hill in the Adirondacks, small village, grey day where the sun came out just as the minister had finished his sermon, and all of us so very sad. Just as the minister finished the committal, my husband nudged me to look up....just then, a flock of Canadian geese flew over the top of the grave, with the lead spot of the V of geese not filled....

We KNEW that was a sign that it would be all right then.

People who were not with the search for Donald, just happening to stop near the area, and found him through all the brush, is the same thing. Not to have found him would have been just awful for all of you.

A Hero to rest with other Heros in Arlington. Very fitting.
