If only delay of confirmation won't give the problem. The problem is
Web borker reported to me the open order was canceled. The report on
the Web broker should have the same effect as reported by a local
account representative, otherwise we should all abandon the on-line
trading system.

This is obviously a fault of the Waterhouse Web broker system and
they can not just pass all the damages to their customers.

I agree with you. All brokers had the same (confirmation) problem
last Tuesday.

All, do not place market order on the day like last Tuesday or
any other day if you don't have to.
You don't know what price you're going to get.
My 2 cents.
