agree with all your assertions.

as to the fascination with politicians.. before i understood what was happening, i was in awe of them. i didn't know anything about economics so i didn't know they were full of crap. now i can spot a keynesian a mile away. i usually only have to listen to them talk approximately a minute and i know where they stand on almost all the issues.

it sounds like you have known about them since you were a kid. if so, you were lucky to have a good education.

2010 can't come soon enough for me..

I agree, that's why I was talking about having a conservative businessman run against Obama. I like John Chambers of Cisco. And it's not just because I worked there. He truly does have a diverse background.

the problem, of course, is that any businessman worth anything wouldn't want the job. Obviously the pay cut is a disincentive, but to get stuck in the D.C. glue where he can't get anything done? just not a lot of incentive for a successful businessman/woman to bug out on the day job.

The people who want the job are the last people who should have it.
