I can't help you. I am centrist so the conservative opinions are far from my own. My opinion is that Obama is resting his laurels on the same kind of sterile strategy that Clinton tried in Kosovo. It is updated with current technology, but he is trying not to lose American lives. Surgical warfare can help but I don't believe it is effective as a primary strategy. You can't win the hearts and minds from 30,000 feet or from drones. To the extent that there are muslim kook fanatics there is probably no strategy that will work short of educating the next generation to mitigate the influence of fanaticism. I really believe that as long as there is a market for illegal heroine there will be great pressure for Afghanistan to remain an anarchy.
