I think that much of the resistance to moving is this train of thought (pun intended): "ok, It's dark, I'm on the train tracks, there's a bright light coming at me, it's loud, I can feel the vibrations, but maybe it's not a train, maybe it's a....it's a...umm...a mountain biker with a bright headlamp...I can certainly take on a mountain biker with a bright headlamp, so let's just wait a little longer to see if I really do need to jump off the tracks" I think that there is a word for that....umm...denial. which is where I probably am right now. But as you said, if 2010 doesn't bring some changes in congress, I don't think we will be able to pretend that it is anything other than a train that is coming at us.
