Because, we've got 12-20 million of them, pretending they aren't THERE isn't going to help and many of them may be able to pay to participate, and WANT to.

If they don't want to pay, they can just keep going to the emergency room like they do now.

My understanding is that Baucus did in fact add such language...but the provision was there to prevent them from joining anyway. Why don't you guys start contributing something tangible instead of whining bullshit and scare mongering all the time? What do you stand for besides yourselves?
