The left? The left is not saying that human induced climate change is upon us -- the core of the world's relevant scientific community is telling us that. The left may applaud it and appropriate it -- but the left no more created this issue that they created AIDS -- and no more than the right bombed the Twin Towers. The Right is simply jumping on an anti-science bandwagon, made easier by the tendency of the right to have at its core people who are scientifically skeptical if not hostile and illiterate. It took decades for the scientific community to arrive at a conclusion -- and it was done painstakingly on a global scale. Now if a handful of Americans want to stick their heads up their butts and chant "its a commie plot", so be it. But don't expect anybody to confuse this with an intelligent discussion -- it is not. It is idiotic raving when what we need is sober consideration of effective courses of action.
