I appreciate the explanation.

I don't understand how such a thing can happen unless our military is broken at the highest levels. Obviously, they don't know how to put the right pieces in place. Perhaps they should consult with the Forest Service Fire Incident Command people for advice.

Is Gates responsible for this or what? I don't get it.

And I'm really pissed right now because my daughter got a letter from one of the soldiers she's been sending care packages to and he said they could really use coffee.

For the love of Pete (I mentally washed my mouth out with soap here, you understand), can't the goddam military provide coffee for the troops, baby wipes, scope sights for their weapons, crap like that?

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE? We gave terrorists a laptop, a prayer rug, three squares, air conditioning and a free plane ride to the South Pacific paradise of Palau and we can't even buy any goddam coffee for the troops??????

This is starting to seriously annoy me.

I appreciate your concerns.
Now try to imagine a 12 man Green Beret Team in the middle of a hot combat zone, in the middle of no where, that needs ammo, water and other supplies and is told it will be a week or two.

Unless they want to ride back on their ATVs and pick up the supplies themselves.

I'd like to know how many generals and admirals travel the IED highways in motorized transport. I would bet none!!!

Coffee is always available at McD's - 15,000 miles away.

These wars are not being fought stupidly. They are being fought idiotically.
But why be surprised? DOD is running this war and like every other war they have run we are losing.
DOD is the losing arm of our armed forces and has been since it was founded.

<< can't the goddam military provide coffee for the troops, >>

One of the major factors in the Civil War was the Yankees had unlimited coffee while the Rebs had none.
