"anti-homosexual rhetoric currently popular with right-wing politicians in the US"

You mean like that associated with Republicans Larry Craig and Mark Foley?

>The first one you gave is not very convincing.

Yep, didn't convince me either. Hermaphrodites - Is it all in their minds?

It seems apparent that you don't live in the US if you think sexual orientation issues aren't considered either scientific issues or political issues. For the record, gay marriage was a huge issue during the last political election. Personally, I could care less. You are the one that brought up global warming in terms of left/right.

"The Right is simply jumping on an anti-science bandwagon, made easier by the tendency of the right to have at its core people who are scientifically skeptical if not hostile and illiterate."

Here in the good ole US of A everything seems to boil down to political rhetoric as a means of enabling one side or the other to fill up their bags with money first. We call it American ingenuity. It's like a two team football league. Small group of participants getting paid very well to put on a show. All the spectators get to pay to watch meaningless actions.

Why don't you propose some meaningful anti global warming policies to discuss? Whether GW is real or not, or how fast it is occurring will soon be known. What we can do is get off fossil fuels asap and quit destroying the world in a nuclear fist fight for the remaining hard assets. It is certainly indisputable that we will soon run out of oil(kinda makes GW a mute point, IMO). I see neither the left nor the right addressing the real issues. Do you?

Gib, Left Wing environmental so-called "science", aka "The Science" is also homosexual. Not to disappoint you, Helen Clark's lesbian coven [arrgghhh there she is again] and others such as Georgina Beyer are avid supporters of The Science. Here is Sue Bradford: <Mr Dail Jones keeps talking about Labour's coterie of lesbians and homosexuals. I find that quite objectionable, but I would just like to assure him that the Green Party also has some quite fine coteries of lesbians and homosexuals.> greens.org.nz

It was only in recent years that I realized how much CO2 Doomsterism is a matter of Left vs Right science, feminist vs masculinist science, homosexual vs heterosexual science.

The reason that environmental science is Left vs Right is that The Environment is a commons matter, with The Tragedy of the Commons being the issue at stake. The basic purpose of government is the collective nature of the commons. Air, oceans, rivers, spectrum, noise, space are collective matters.

People who are concerned about any particular kind of commons pollution are necessarily immediately doing Left Wing science because the aim is to protect the commons from pollution. Those opposed are necessarily Right Wing because they don't think The State and Big Brother, or, in Helengrad's case, Big Sister, needs to be involved, trampling on individuals yet again.

You have been involved with scientific things and reading science [actual studies not dopey journalists reporting and confusing correlation with causation] long enough to know that such science is often bung.

There are also criminals in science who will lie to get their so-called "science" through the system and into action. I have read a lie by Associated Octel in regard to lead in petrol. I only found it because I went back and looked at the actual data to check the statement which seemed to me incompatible with my understanding of how things work.

It's like the cigarette companies claiming cigarettes don't cause cancer. In a way, they don't. It's only when the smoke comes in contact with human membranes and the carcinogens do their probabilistic work that cancer results. They are lies.

When interests are leaning a particular way, I have found over decades that what is considered true has more to do with what people want to be true than what is actually true. That's why judges recuse themselves, doctors do too.

That's why I would guess that Exxon and PG&E would talk their books with "The Science" proving that oil is okay, or, in PG&E's case, not okay. PG&E here: Message 25967327

The Left wants Big Government, Collectivism, Big Brother, Central Planning, Kremlinisation, Socialism and Communism by definition. Therefore they want commons problems because commons problems support that position. If they can find a commons problem, ipso facto there is a role for Big Government. So you can be sure that "The Science" paid for by Collectivist Leftist Statist Clarksters will NOT be finding things that the Piper Calling The Tune has not called for.

Do you think that Adolf's scientists studying genetics would report back to him, "That's interesting Adolf, The Science shows that contrary to your ideas, the Jews are the master race and you are more closely related to a miscegenated Bonobo Ethiopian"? I hasten to add that I have nothing against either Bonobos or Ethiopians and some of my best friends are Bonobos, though one must be circumspect about Ethiopians because there are quite a lot of Moslems lurking there though even Ethiopians are generally good blokes - heck, I are one [my theory is that one of my ancestors is from that neck of the wood]

Eugenics was, of course, Left Wing science and The Science showed that some culling of the human population was a very good idea.

If scientists can find an endangered left footed homosexual feminist mud crab frightened by 0.01 degrees Celsius temperature rise, the Left Wing science is made. So you can be sure there will be lots of crabs found [not too many to take them off the endangered list of course]. Or if crabs love the extra heat, they'll ignore those and look for the creatures which do NOT like it warmer.

Now you can see why The Science is Left Wing.
