I guarantee that whoever he works for sees his health insurance as part of his "total compensation package".

It's simple expense accounting. My ultimate (not possible) solution? Make employer insurance illegal, and require the employers to increase wages by the exact cost of their insurance "benefit". You want a free market; you got it.

The insurance companies would freak out. They would actually have to figure out what their consumer wants, and they would actually have to figure a way to cut their prices and compete.

But that's a pipe dream.... not going to happen.

"total compensation package"

Wow - come up with that all on your own - of course they and I see it that way - but thankfully it's not taxable - but if bambam has his way you can bet it will become part of my regular salary and taxed.
