Glenn Reynolds has this to say about the ACORN lawsuit....

>>>>>>>September 23, 2009

I’M PRETTY SURE THEY’RE FALLING INTO A TRAP: ACORN Sues Hidden-Camera Filmmakers, Breitbart.com. It should be fun to do discovery on this one.

Plus, from the A.P., How the ACORN ‘pimp and hooker’ videos came to be.

UPDATE: Reid Refuses to Hold ACORN Hearings.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Politico: Barney Frank Turns Against Acorn.

MORE: Ann Althouse:

Yes, it’s almost as if the real point of the videos was to provoke a lawsuit that would open ACORN to the legal intrusions of discovery. And of course, Giles and O’Keefe will get even more publicity, and it shouldn’t be hard for them to attract aggressive legal counsel and a hefty litigation fund.
Breitbart really does seem to have planned this out like Hari Seldon. Or maybe he’s The Mule . . . .

Glee is THE exact word I just about posted after I'd just seen Greta tonight....our minds were thinking the exact same thing it would appear.....<gg>

She was beside herself with glee about the suit, what with ACORN just having opened themselves up to the broad scope of civil discovery

Defendants need to get some good counterclaims in. That way, even if ACORN wises up and dismisses their claims, they're stuck in court.

That answers my question. Thanks. I'm hoping Acorn gets locked into this suit even if they drop their claims.

That's what happens when people and organizations go with the knee-jerk reaction.

We're taking you to court!

They often don't realize what it means to be a plaintiff.

When I interview prospective clients on the plaintiff side, I make sure they understand the pitfalls, particularly when they would be placing their mental state and personal integrity in issue.
