The Romans invaded Gaul/France to steal the Celts' 40 gold mines. The Celts had better metal work than the Romans in gold and steel. Fashionably, today we say iron not steel, as it is widely thought people of that antiquity did not have the grey metal, but they had to, as iron by itself is useless for armour, spearpoints, or swords. The "oil" tongue people as well as the Aquitanian protobasques undeniably had better (lignum vitae and brass) axle bearings, so their chariots were previous to the Romans' possession of same. The Romans borrowed steel and wheeled chariots from their enemies the Celts. The adventure of Ceasar into Gaul and Spain however was driven by one metal, and that was gold. The border trade of gilded artifacts by the wealthy Celt merchants had just whetted the Roman appetite for plunder. The invasion was disguised from history for the longest time as a necessary frontier foray to defend the Republic and beat back unrully tribes, but in fact the Celts had made no pretenses at conquest of Rome. The Romans attacked the Celts after a period of quiet and peaceful trade. We can mine in this country but first we must throw off the yoke of the invading overlords who have forbidden the people to ply their normal trades. Some see these people as domestic politicians who have a green thumb for sticking in knotholes of Redwood trees, but you and I know they are foreign agents from the planet Luddite, who are seeking to subjugate the leading industrial races of this spheroid, so are limiting their access to technology of metal harvest and construction which would allow them to resist the coming alien invasion. First weakening them with the base desires of the flesh, i.e. narcotics, then introducing social evils such as gay marriage and birth control so they cannot or will not breed, then specious ideals such as greenism so their industries collapse then paper valuation so their economy collapses, then social discordance, rumour and fear, so resistance is not effective, flooding their educational institutions and denying their generations accreditation, finally in strengthening central government control, gradually by selected agents of influence, the populace is driven mad or discredited who would form a counter force. We have conquered ourselves, or let ourselves be conquered by slow infiltration of ideas that have diluted or outright destroyed our commitment and capability to support our civilization. EC<:-}
